Blending old-school Hollywood glamour with a darker, rebellious edge, ‘Off the Tracks’ draws inspiration from the spirit of James Dean, the golden age of Hollywood and the surreal, intoxicating aesthetic of The Love Witch.

At the centre of the song is a relationship that feels almost impossible to resist — even when the warning signs are impossible to ignore. It is the sound of falling for someone so completely that love begins to resemble a beautiful car crash: thrilling, dangerous and seemingly impossible to stop.

A love story with a warning sign

There is a deliberately timeless quality to ‘Off the Tracks’. Beer combines her distinctive dark-siren aesthetic with the glamour of classic Hollywood, creating a world of midnight romance, reckless attraction and doomed desire.

The track explores that moment when love stops feeling safe and instead becomes exhilarating — when you know you're heading towards disaster but don't want to reach for the brakes.

Produced by Tom Donovan and recorded in Colchester, the single pushes Beer's cinematic songwriting into darker and more seductive territory, balancing its romantic qualities with an underlying feeling of chaos.

That visual world continues through the single's artwork, photographed by Alt Content — Mandy Morello. Drawing on rebellious Hollywood icons, femme-fatale glamour and the fantasy of a romance destined to spectacularly go off course, the artwork further establishes the atmosphere surrounding the new release.

Music, fashion and cinema collide

‘Off the Tracks’ adds another chapter to Freya Beer's growing body of work as a poet, model and singer-songwriter, with her music existing at the intersection of sound, fashion and cinematic imagery.

Rather than simply presenting a song, Beer has continued to build a distinctive artistic world around her releases — one where glamour and darkness sit comfortably alongside vulnerability and desire.

With ‘Off the Tracks’, that world becomes even more intoxicating.

‘Off the Tracks’ is out now.
